The Gloucester County Children’s Choir has announced that it will extend the audition dates for its Spring 2017 season until the second week in February.
The choir, under the direction of Sylvia Richardson, is currently scheduling voice placement auditions for children ages 10 to 17 on February 1 and 8 in the St. James Lutheran Church, 400 Columbia Ave., Pitman, 08071. http://www.gccchoir.com
No experience is necessary and all children from the southern New Jersey area are encouraged to participate. Auditions are for voice placement. Interested parents and guardians should call the Director at 856-589-5149 to secure an appointment. Rehearsals are held each Wednesday evening at St. James Lutheran Church in Pitman from 7 to 9 p.m..
Pieces to be performed by the choir during this spring season include the “Festival Sanctus” by John Leavitt, written for the 1988 International Choral Symposium, and “The Impossible Dream” from the musical “Man of La Mancha.”
The choir is funded, in part, by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts and the Cultural & Heritage Commission at Rowan College at Gloucester County.
