The GCCC offers children the opportunity to grow musically by supporting their healthy vocal development with music that is appropriate to their age ranges and ability. The choir offers children who are interested an opportunity to sing solo parts, as available, and emphasizes the shared experience of creating beautiful choral music and building friendships with fellow choristers
Upon joining GCCC, interested choristers are requested to audition for voice placement only. Choristers are asked to commit to a full year (September through May) of membership. A great deal of music is learned during the year and performed at various times. It is difficult to start new members during the year because they will not have the necessary rehearsal time to learn music that other members have already learned. The Choir “sound” depends on a group with enough voices to cover the parts. If members drop out during the year, the quality of the choir suffers.
Choristers who choose not to continue the following year are requested to share with the Director(s) positive and negative concerns about GCCC and to receive input on their choral development.

When and where do auditions take place?
Auditions by appointment before the choir’s September rehearsals. Please call the Director to schedule an appointment. .
How should I prepare?
No special preparation is necessary for the audition.
What happens during the audition?
The Director will interview you one-on-one and will ask you to sing a song of your choosing or ask you to sing single notes played on the piano. This is done to identify you placement in the choir.
When will I rehearse?
Rehearsals are held each Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Rehearsals are currently held online due to the COVID-19 health emergency.
What are GCCC’s tuition and fees?
For the 2020/21 season the registration fee for each child is $100. If a choir uniform is not available in the child’s size, they may be required to purchase a uniform. Fundraisers are held throughout the year to defray the cost of such trips as the annual Music in the Parks performance at an area amusement park.
