The Gloucester County Children’s Choir, under the direction of Sylvia Richardson, will host its Spring Concert in the Pitman United Methodist Church at 758 North Broadway in Pitman, NJ, 08071 at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 18.
The theme of this year’s concert is World Peace and Music of the World. Featured selections include: “Let There be Peace on Earth” by Sy Miller; “Ubi Caritas,” by Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo; “ I Got Plenty of Nothing” from “Porgy and Bess” by George Gershwin; and the Mozart masterpiece “Sanctus.”
The concert will feature a special guest appearance by The Pine Barons, an area barbershop quartet and solo performance of “Ave Maria” by veteran choir member Kaylin Young, a recent Marian Anderson Music Guild top prize winner.
Winners of the GCCC Scholarship Program will be awarded during the concert and refreshments will be served in the church hall following the concert.
